Class Description

Insurance Coverage and Risk Management for Motor Carriers
This course is being introduced to you for the first time on Oct. 12, 2023, by the Missouri Association of Insurance Agents. Our presentation is in our classroom facility and is specifically designed for insurance agents, brokers and company representatives. Our speaker is Bettye Hutchison, CIC, CPCU, CRM, AAI, ARM, TRIP, who has many years of experience as an insurance agency owner of three agencies in three different states that specialize in transportation insurance and risk management. She is also a nationally recognized speaker on the subject and heavily involved in insurance and risk management education. The course will start with a discussion of current issues unique to truck transportation companies and be followed by a discussion and review of auto liability, physical damage, motor truck cargo insurance coverages available and risk management policies aimed at loss control. The current insurance market conditions along with numerous regulations in place and in current discussion by regulators necessitates the need for active use of risk management by all commercial accounts. We will open discussion to include lots of litigation and claims examples.
